gettin' back in there.
okay. the semester is almost over. it's going to be summer. i'm going to really do this now. really. i worked every muscle in my body today. i got a really cool new free weight set. i did some cardio dance moves. i drank a healthy smoothie for breakfast and has a delicious (fairly) low calorie lunch. i had a dream about bacon yesterday so i had to eat a little of that, today. but it was only 70 calories worth. yes. yes!

3 pounds down.
I lost three pounds! Yippee. I have been really beat lately, though. It's been a really busy start to the semester, especially after I was so lazy all break. My days are jam packed and trying to fit in practicing, working out, reading and working and being a mom is exhausting, not to mention my stupid insomnia that keeps me from getting the rest I need. Poor me! Ha.
I am not going to work out today. Well, at least I'm not going to do cardio. It's a strength training day so maybe I'll just do that and take the dogs for a leisurely walk.
I'm going to try to up my carb intake (I've been below my goal every day for god knows how long) so I have more energy.

Oh hey!
I just realized that I can open my food and exercise diary up to the public. So now you can all see how much I eat and of what! Very interesting stuff, I know. Try to contain yourselves.
I found it really hard to push myself while working out today. I think I might need a buddy. Anyone? Hello?

Success.
I'm on track! This is the longest amount of time in a long time that I've been so good for so long. So far today, by noon, I've had coffee with some whey protein in it and a naked juice. I'm not hungry, though I am feeling a little run down. I need to eat something.
I didn't want to run today. At all. But fortunately it snowed so I shoveled for twenty minutes and that equals 200 calories! I also did some strength training. I'm working on my upper body strength because I want to be able to do pull-ups again. I guess something ridiculous like 97% of women can't do a pull-up. I can at least do one. I want to do like ten though.
I can remember during my sophomore year of high school I schooled all the bitches in my gym class by doing five or six pull-ups. It feels good to be better than other people.

I'm awesome.
Thanks to myfitnesspal.com (which is far superior to my former fitness/food log website, fitday.com), I feel as though progress is being made. My calorie goal is something a little above 1500 a day (which I've been going over a bit, but have resolve to stick to it), and I usually burn at least 300 calories a day, plus strength train every other day.
I ran a 12 minute mile yesterday and today I ran an 11 minute mile. I've running about 30 minutes a day now and it's addictive. Yay! It's just hard to find a route that lasts that long in my neighborhood.
My upper torso is clearly skinnier.

It's been a while.
That's because I was doing poorly. Then I saw a picture of me. I looked like I weighed 250 pounds. I don't think it was an accurate depiction, but I don't even want a bad camera angle to look like that.
So, for the last four days I haven't fucked up at all. I've eaten well and exercised often. I even feel like I can do this on the weekends. I've commited myself to eating salads and I'm not that bad at it. Cool.
Maybe on Sunday I'll have a beer at band practice.

Coon's Age.
It's been a while since I've posted. You can imagine what that means; the holidays took me away from my healthy living. Not to mention the frigid cold that keeps me from running outdoors.
BUT! I have kicked it into high fucking gear my friends. Yesterday I worked out for an hour and ate very sensibly. It looked something like this:
breakfast: whey protein (130 cals), fiber one bar (140 cals).
work out: 1 hour, 500 cals burned. arms.
lunch: whey protein (130 cals), whole wheat pasta with some pesto (? 250 cals).
snack: naked juice (300 cals).
dinner: lasanga with whole wheat pasta, ground turkey and light ricotta. one piece of garlic bread (?500 cals?).
FUCK YEAH!
Today went something like this:
breakfast: whey protein, two cups of coffee.
snack: banana.
work out: forty-five minutes (420 cals burned, burned looks at annoying skinny bitches who weren't sweating). no strength training.
lunch: whole wheat pasta with pesto and one small chicken breast. whey protein.
dinner: left over lasanga, one piece garlic bread.
I've been sick with some weird, unnamed illness that has caused me to really value my health and made me not very hungry. I've been completely satisfied all day long and wasn't even tempted by chocolate at the office or chips and dip at the grocery store. This may be it, guys!
